ETO stands for Electro Technical Officer. An electro-technical officer handles several responsibilities on the ship. Basically, ETO handles all Electrical systems. Required Eligibility Criteria:-

Passed 10+2 is in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks and English with a minimum of 50% marks.

Passed four – year degree is with 60% marks in Electronics Engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics &Instrumentation Engineering only Or passed Diploma + Degree with same as the equivalent above branches.

The degree courses must have been recognized by AICTE or any State or Central government and conducted in English languages.



Age & Medical Fitness:-

This criterion varies with maritime institute because each maritime institute its own Age & medical criteria but the as per standard norm age is not more than 30 years on the date of commencement of training and medically fit including hearing & eyesight as per the Medical Examination of Merchant Shipping Rules, 2000; as amended from time to time.

Course Fees:-

ETO course fees depend on maritime institute but basically its fees varies between 2 lakh to 4.5 lakh. This fee normally inclusive of Tuition fees, food, laundry, uniform, Books and stationary, hostel fees.

The salary of an ETO normally varies with experience and responsibilities you can handle and rank that you can work on. As an ETO, you can expect to earn between $3,000 and $5,400 a month.
